Budget Report 2026-27
The 2026–27 budget of Sreenarayanapuram Grama Panchayat gives primary importance to drinking water and housing, which are considered the basic needs of the people.
To achieve self-sufficiency in the drinking water sector, an amount of ₹1.25 crore has been allocated, including funds from the MLA Fund and the three-tier Panchayat funds. With the objective of ensuring safe housing for all, ₹1.17 crore has been allocated through the LIFE Mission comprehensive housing scheme for constructing houses for homeless families.
Waste management is one of the major challenges faced by the Panchayat. Priority has been given to projects for processing biodegradable waste at the source level and for segregating and handing over plastic and other non-biodegradable waste, which directly and indirectly affect public health, to waste-processing agencies. The activities of the Haritha Karma Sena are progressing effectively. Funds have also been allocated for various sanitation and cleanliness projects in the Panchayat.
In addition, special consideration has been given to socially and economically weaker sections, differently-abled persons, destitute people, patients, children, women, and senior citizens who require support. Funds have also been allocated for the Panchayat’s major agricultural crops such as coconut and vegetable cultivation, as well as for animal husbandry, fishing, soil conservation, and water conservation.
Recognizing that sustainable basic development is possible only through the productive sector, this budget also emphasizes projects such as organic manure for coconut cultivation and food self-sufficiency.
An amount of ₹1.5 crore has been allocated in the budget for the construction of new roads and road maintenance works. Necessary funds have also been earmarked for literacy programs, educational support activities, and art and cultural promotion programs.
The 2026–27 financial year budget of Sreenarayanapuram Grama Panchayat includes allocations aimed at the development of various sectors such as employment generation, housing construction, waste management, soil and water conservation, welfare of senior citizens, welfare of women and children, agricultural development, animal husbandry, programs for differently-abled persons, road development, and waste disposal initiatives.
